Close to 900 participants, 34 volunteers and a whole lot of fun.
Check out this video made by Ria Tan on our day out in the sun.
One of our key highlights of the day is seeing what our young visitors have to say about Chek Jawa. Although young in terms of age, kids often remind us why we need to work hard to live in harmony with the environment. Many drew the importance of reducing marine trash and our impacts on the ecosystems around us.
For many others, nature was a space where they could spend quality time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The event would not have been possible without our passionate volunteer station guides who spent their Sunday with us! We would also like to thank Ria Tan for all the wonderful photos.
Since the start of Naked Hermit Crabs, we have focused on protecting our shores whose fate is uncertain. This sentiment was beautifully captured by one of our younger participants who hoped to be back to Chek Jawa who hopes that he can visit the shore again. We hope that Chek Jawa will stay for generations to come so we can continue to do Balik Chek Jawa!
Join us next year at Balik Chek Jawa 2019!
Awesome
